I've known Tommy since I started working at the Fleet Readiness Center in 2002. He took me under his wing and showed me some of the ropes. We worked side by side and had many wonderful conversations. What a wonderful man, what a wonderful friend. I thank the Lord for bringing Tommy into my life and ask the Lord to continue to bless his family. I will always have you in my thoughts and heart.

Although I only interacted with Tommy for relatively a short while, I was very much touched by his character. My prayers are continually with the family during this time of bereavement. I pray that God continues to comfort you and give you peace that surpasses all understanding throughout. We'll always remember the good and special moments in the lives of our loved ones. That's what keeps their spirit alive.

To one of the greatest people I've had the pleasure to work with. Smart, Intelligent and Funny. Always had a smile on his face, no matter the circumstances. I nicknamed him Buttercup for a reason; you Sir, will be sorely missed here at NASJAX. We will never be able to replace you. Rest In Peace in the Lords Arms! I was blessed to have known you!

“Fly with the Angels dear friend”
Mr. Tommy Walker- A dear Friend, Co-worker and Idol.
He always knew how to put a smile on our faces, always put others first and would always help no matter the circumstances. He stood up for the right reasons and never backed down. Mr. Walker, I sincerely thank you and family for having the opportunity to know such a great person, you will be missed and never forgotten. “May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the hollow of his hand.” ~Irish Blessing
Sincerely,
Clinton Johnson & Family

When I got out of the army as a diesel mechanic I knew nothing about working on airplanes except what I had learned at FSCJ. I was so scared to work on airplanes because of how critical the work was and how someone’s life could depend on how good or bad my job was. Tommy was my mentor, trainer, and most importantly my friend. He used to always tell me that “there is nothing that we can’t fix”, and through his reassurances I slowly became more confident. He was the one who gave me the nickname “Hero” because he used to joke that I was trying to save NADEP. It’s amazing to me what a presence and force one individual can be. For example, I remember one time he made ribs for my little girl’s birthday in his smoker, and when I went to pick them up, he had balloons for her. They have never forgotten that. From that point forward he was called ‘the nice man’…but that’s exactly the kind of man Tommy really was. -----------------------Continued------

This man was a mentor and best friend of mine since meeting him at my first Navy duty station, VFC-13 located at Miramar, Ca. (Top Gun base at the time) back in August of 1991. He was a gentle giant with the biggest heart a man could have for compassion to family and friends! We share many a "sea-story" together from serving together and so much friendship behind the navy professional lines. Our deepest condolences to Dianna and Tommy's surviving family members!!! I'm looking forward to re-uniting with them this coming Friday and services at the base on Saturday. Tommy will always be and forever a unique man with special god given talents, so Lord you have him now, and we will honor him as he requested at these two chosen sites to truly honor him and your grace!
