Our Staff

Burney Bivens, our Licensed Funeral Director in Charge, made Orange Park his family’s home more than 25 years ago and he has served the North Florida region ever since in various capacities, most recently as a Trustee at Bethune-Cookman College (1996-2005), a member of the Penney Retirement Community Board of Directors (2004-present), and an insurance agent. Burney is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps. He continues to practice law.

Aaron Bivens, an Orange Park native, is the Managing Funeral Director at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home. He is a graduate of Bethune-Cookman College with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Florida Community College at Jacksonville with an Associate’s degree in Funeral Service.

Gordon Armstrong, a U.S. Army veteran, is a licensed funeral director in Florida and New Hampshire. He currently resides in Middleburg. Gordon’s daughter also is a licensed funeral director, and funeral home owner in New Hampshire.  In Florida prior to joining Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, Gordon has worked in Sarasota, Punta Gorda, Starke and Keystone Heights.
