Obituary of Mercedes McGriff

Mercedes McGriff passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2015. She was born on May 1, 1943 in Jacksonville, FL, to the late Duval and Adline McGriff. Mercedes enjoyed family, fishing and vacationing. She was a devoted mother to all her children and grands and a devoted friend. She worked at Baptist Medical Center. Mercedes was preceded in death by her parents, Duval and Adline McGriff; brothers, Hershel, Bobby and Duval McGriff, Jr.; and sisters, Louise and Cora Lee McGriff. She is survived by her children, Charlie (Sarah) Tolbert, Theresa (Raymond) Tolbert, Steve (Barbara) Tolbert, Leonard (Jacquelyn) Williams, Sr., Victor (Renee) Tolbert, Sr., Toney (Charadee) Tolbert and Nelotine Tolbert; 24 grandchildren and 26 great grands; brothers, Willie, Larry and Robert McGriff; sisters, Margie (Henry) Paulo, Edith (Kade) Hamm, Joyce (Alex) Floyd; and devoted friends, Mrs. Nora, Mrs. Green and Mr. Alvin. Thanks to everyone who showed care, love and concern during this sorrowful time.
