Obituary of Ellen B. Jackson
Ellen B. Jackson passed away on June 25, 2015 in Orange Park, FL. She was born on December 20, 1960 to Willie B. Hampton and Earline Marshall.
Ellen found the Lord early in her life and was baptized at Messiah Baptist Church in Cleveland, OH, where she was very active. She graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Cleveland in the class of 1978, and later from Irvine Valley College with an AA degree and from California State University Fullerton with a BS degree.
In August of 1979, Ellen entered the United States Marine Corps Reserves and served for 8 years before being honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant. While in the reserves and attending Cuyahoga Community College, at different times Ellen worked for State Wholesale, Society National Bank and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Her last employment was with A.S.T. Computer Services. Ellen enjoyed reading the Bible, cooking, traveling and horseback riding.
In September of 1984, Ellen married her loving and devoted husband, Ronald Jackson, Sr. of Williamson, WV. They became parents in August of 1986 to their first son, Ronel E. Jackson. He passed away after a short few months due to heart failure. In May of 1997, they were blessed with a second son, Ronald E. Jackson, Jr., a.k.a. “Biscuit.” He was instantly the joy of their lives and the apple of Ellen’s eye.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie B. Hampton and Earline Marshall, and son, Ronel E. Jackson.
Ellen is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Ronald Sr.; son, Ronald Jr.; sister, Janet L. Marshall; brother, Nelson “Sammy” Marshall, and a host of other family members.
The family extends a special thank you to the wonderful staffs at Consulate Health Care and Community Hospice for the compassion and care given to Ellen and also to Ms. Survanish Miller for her excellent cosmetology skills in keeping Ellen beautiful.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 6, 2015 at 12:00 noon following a visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m., both at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32073, (904) 264-1233.
