Obituary of Joseph Daniel Maestas

Joseph Daniel Maestas, 63, passed away on June 6, 2015 in Jacksonville, FL. He was born on October 18, 1951 in Monte Vista, CO, to the late Max Maestas and Magdalena Rivera. Joseph graduated from Monte Vista High School and proudly served our Country in the Army. He spent most of his life in Florida. He loved his family dearly and will be missed. He was preceded in death by brothers, Val Maestas and Richard Maestas and sister, Adela Martinez. Joseph is survived by fiancée, Carol Naslund; daughter, Brandi Browning; sons, Daniel Maestas and Jeffery Newton; grandchildren, Devan Browning, Brody Browning, Timothy Daniel Newton, Ashton Newton, Kameryn Roberts and Kenley Newton; brothers, Willie Maestas, Raymond Maestas and Jean Maestas; sister, Josie Salazar; and a host of friends. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32073, (904) 264-1233.
