Obituary of Charlie Mae Robertson
Charlie Mae Robertson was born on January 8, 1928 to the late Charlie Idlett and Sarah Jackson in Addison, Ga. She boarded the “Ole Ship of Zion” on April 11, 2015 to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Anovel Robertson and was the mother of eight children.
Charlie Mae spent many years volunteering at “The Clothes Closet” bringing joy and a smile to each person she met. She was a member of St. John Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by three of her children, Jackie Ray Bassett, Norma Jean Riley and Yvette Robertson, and two brothers and two sisters.
She will truly be missed by her children, Rena Mae Taylor of Orange Park, Fl., Jeanette (Al) Martin, of Fayetteville, Ga., Brenda Smith, Orange Park, Fl., Larry (Linda) Bassett, Orange Park, Fl., and Steven (Josette) Pollard of Kathleen, Ga.; her loving grandchildren, Jack Gainers, Eugene Smith, Omar (Monique) Frazier, Pierre Riley, Reginald (Debra) Riley, Tawana Bassett, Mathew Pollard, Kaleena Pollard, Rick (Quovadis) Pollard, Gabriel Martin and Jeff Bassett; one sister, Doris Pullings of Kokame, Ind. and two brothers, Willie (Mary) Idlett and Charlie Idlett. She also leaves a host of great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces and a special friend, Katherine Bradley.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 17, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and the funeral service on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 1:00 p.m., both at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32073, (904) 264-1233.
