Obituary of Harold Emery Gulden
Harold Emery Gulden, 81, of Middleburg, FL, passed away at his home on February 21, 2015 after a 10-year battle with Alzheimer's. He was born October 9, 1933 in Montevideo, MN, the youngest of three boys, to parents Hjelmer and Minnie Gulden.
Harold was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Montevideo.
After completing school, he enlisted in the United States Navy at Great Lakes, IL, and retired in New Orleans, LA, after 21 years of service.
He married Louise Nellie Taylor in Kingsland, GA, on September 3, 1954. They would share the next 60 years of life's journey together.
Growing up the son of a farmer, he had a great love for nature, animals and anything outdoors. His favorite hobby was golf.
He was predeceased by his parents, Hjelmer and Minnie Gulden, and his brothers, John Orville Gulden and Helmer Marvin Gulden.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Nellie Taylor Gulden; his children, Robert Gulden, Robin Gulden Burgart (John Burgart), Mark Gulden and Katherine Gulden Baustert; his grandchildren, Jared Gulden (Alycin Gulden), Erica Burgart, Jacob Gulden and Kaelyn Baustert; and his great-grandchildren, Carter Gulden, Mycah Gulden and Easton Greene.
The celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32073, (904) 264-1233, with Reverend Ira Cloud officiating.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 6, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home. Those attending are encouraged to be prepared to share a favorite memory.
