Obituary of Pham Thi Sau King

Pham Thi Sau “Hoang” King died in Fleming Island, Florida, on January 21, 2015. She was 83. Hoang was born on June 4, 1931 in Vietnam. She met Thomas “Bob” King who was working in Vietnam as a civilian contractor, and they married in 1967. They had two daughters, Dian and JoAnne. The family traveled to several countries in Africa for Bob’s work before they settled in Ormond Beach, Florida, in the early 1970s. Hoang was devoted to her family and worked tirelessly as a homemaker to support her husband and raise their daughters. After Bob’s death in 1993, she turned her energies to being a doting grandmother to Laura, Angela, Micah, Thaddeus and Cora. Hoang was loved by many for her hospitality and desire to serve others. She was known for being able to spontaneously put together large elaborate meals for family, friends and anyone who came by. Hoang is survived by her daughters, Dian Trent and JoAnne King; sons-in-law, Kevin Trent and David Rodziewicz; and grandchildren, Laura Trent, Angela Trent, Micah Trent, Thaddeus Rodziewicz and Cora Rodziewicz. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Salty Church, 221 Vining Court, Ormond Beach, Florida 32176. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Halo Project (Help a Liberian Orphan) at www.MyHALOProject.com or 7310 Collins Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32244.
