Obituary of Betty Jean Brown
Betty Jean Brown, 74, a longtime resident of Orange Park, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2015, surrounded by loved ones.
Betty was born in Mobile, Alabama, on July 28, 1940. She married the love of her life, Roger Brown, on June 10, 1960. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, and collecting various items such as Barbie dolls, Pez and cookie jars. She was known for her vivaciousness, love and generosity to others. Betty was a dedicated Christian and read her bible daily. We rejoice in knowing that she is in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Betty was preceded in death by her father, John Henry Cooper, and her mother, Sarah Margaret Cooper.
Betty is survived by her devoted husband, Roger; children, Roger A. Brown Jr., Debra A. Suit (David), Laurie A. Rountree (Skip) and Michael J. Brown (Colette); and her brothers, Chuck Cooper (Kay) and Gary Cooper (Gloria). She is also survived by six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors on Monday, January 26, 2015 between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, Florida 32073, (904) 264-1233.
A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, with Susan Pyles officiating. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery.
