Obituary of Karen Young

Ms. Karen Marie Young, 69, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 4, 2016. Karen was born on October 5, 1946 in West Palm Beach, FL. She spent her formative years in Orlando and Houston, but was a resident of the Orange Park area for most of her life. Karen spent her entire career working in the financial services industry and made lifelong friends along the way. As one of her bosses stated, “Karen was our ‘Mother Hen,’ always wanting to be helpful to others, especially our clients, whom she dearly loved to meet, greet, and make them feel special when they called or visited with us.“ Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley Young and Coral Wavro, and her brother, Terry Young. She is survived by her loving nephews, Lance and Adam Young, and her uncle, Buddy Bender. The family would like to express our sincere appreciation to her extended “family” of Christine Flink, Paula Davis, Tiffany Beasley, Debbie Sutton and Meg Fegan. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32073, (904) 264-1233. Officiating will be Paula Hill, her step-sister.
