Obituary of Emilio Ramirez Cortez
Emilio “Pop” Ramirez passed away on December 12, 2015. He was born on August 8, 1946 to the late Lorenzo Ramirez, Sr. and Adelaida Cortes in Arecibo, Puerto Rico.
Emilio was a humble hard worker for over 50 years. He was a member of Journey Church where he worshiped faithfully. When not at Journey, he would attend Spanish Bible study every Tuesday night at Familias Para Jesus Cristo Assemblies of God. Emilio was known for his favorite sayings, “YIP” and “What’s up my neighbor.” He loved fishing, gardening, wrestling, boxing and football.
Emilio was preceded in death by his wife, Delphine Ramirez; grandson Cy Daniel Velez and siblings, Ruben and Nydia Ramirez.
Emilio is survived by his children, April Velez,
Edmond Rousselle, Gloria Andino, Emilio Ramirez, Jr.; grandchildren, Wilmarie and Ray Rousselle, Daniel and Christina Velez, Alexa and Juanberto Andino; 11 great grand-children; brothers and sisters, Lorenzo, Jr., Amado, Gloria, Esther, Nelson and Zulma Ramirez; nieces and nephews, Steven, Carlos, Nelmarie, Loricar and Yelicza Ramirez, Carmen, Nino and Elizabeth Hernandez and Zuly Calderone and a host of other family and friends.
