Obituary of Thomas Gregory Love

Thomas Gregory Love (better known by relatives and friends as “Skeeter”), age 58, was born on August 23, 1958 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late Herman and Elsie Love. He went home to be with the Lord peacefully in his home on July 4, 2016. He resided in Middleburg, Florida, with his wife, Tanya Jean Love. Thomas was educated in the Philadelphia school district. He worked as a tailor and loved to make garments of various designs. Thomas had a passion for music — he was talented playing various instruments. He had a gift for playing the bass, with it he loved to praise the Lord faithfully in his church at the National Temple Church of the Living God in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Thomas accepted the Lord as his personal savior at an early age. The late Bishop Raymond White saw the gifting in Thomas and invested in a bass for Thomas to play glorifying the Lord. Thomas would always find the humor in things making everyone laugh. Thomas was a natural comedian. He would take a stressful situation and find the humor in it to make you laugh. He was united in holy matrimony to his wife, Tanya Love, on September 16, 2000. Thomas and Tanya would travel to various exotic islands such as Aruba, Jamaica, St. Lucia, Antigua, Tahiti and Hawaii. On three occasions Thomas and Tanya renewed their marriage vows, once in Jamaica and twice in Aruba. Thomas suffered a pulmonary embolism on January 8, 2013. He was determined to live. He traveled with his wife to the University of San Diego California to have the procedure (thrombo-pulmonary endarterectomy) that would give him a chance to live. God gave Thomas the grace to live to see his new home built in Middleburg, Florida, move into his new home and as stated by Thomas “I want to die peacefully in my home.” God gave him the desire of his heart. Thomas is survived by his wife, Tanya Jean Love; his son, Oshay; daughter, Tamika; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters: Joan Holliday, Irie Price, Bernice Joyner, Marie Leggett, Sheletha Love, Thalia Mason and Jennifer Mason; brothers: Craig Love, Calvin Love, Bernard Love, Tyrone Taylor, Gerald Leggett, Marshall Holliday, Kenneth Price and Perry Mason; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He went home to join the late Herman and Elsie Love, the late Burgess and George Love, and sister, the late Lisa Anderson.
