Obituary of Pearlie M Golden

Pearl Golden passed away on July 4, 2016, in Orange Park, FL. She was born on September 2, 1937 in Monticello, FL, to the late Katherine and Willie Ham, Sr. Pearl was a longtime resident of Clay County, a Dunbar High School graduate and a devoted member of First African Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a trustee for many years. She retired from Sears after 15 years of service and many employee awards. Pearl enjoyed bowling and fishing and watching her favorite sport, basketball. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, David and Herman Ham. Survivors left to cherish her memory are daughters, Helen Hammond, Delores Gist and Catherine Ham; grandchildren, Katarina and Jose Hammond, Larry, Domonique and Danielle Richardson, Desiree Robinson and Monroe Gist; great-grandchildren, Sirr iahzac Blake and Malik Salazar, and Yulihana Richardson; brothers, Willie Ham, Jr. and James Ham and friend she considered the sister she never had, Marva Joseph. The family wishes to thank Life Care Center of Orange Park for the loving care shown to their loved one, Pearl. A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and a funeral service, on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at 2:00 p.m., both at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32073, (904) 264-1233.
