Obituary of Mary Ellen Berghauser

Mary Ellen Berghauser passed away on December 17, 2015. She was born on May 26, 1952 to the late Charles N. and Evelyn H. Matthews, Sr. in Scranton, PA. Mary Ellen graduated from Pocono Mt. High School in 1970 and later from the University of Pittsburgh where she received her bachelors of science degree. She was a pharmacist with Winn Dixie for many years and prior to that at Rite Aid in PA. She was of the Methodist faith. She enjoyed reading, playing golf and going on cruises. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William C. Berghauser and brother, James C. Matthews. Mary Ellen is survived by her brothers, Charles N. Matthews, Jr. (Janie), Mark S. Matthews and Jeffrey A. Matthews (Mary Jane); sisters, Lynn M. Salak (Buddy), and Judy A. Trombetta (Jim); nephews and nieces, Gary J. Hartford, Tracey Jacobi, Lori E. Hartford, Kristen Herbst, and Jaimylee Matthews; and many other great nieces and great nephews and also the family of her late husband Bill. Special thanks to all of Mary Ellen’s friends and co-workers who were there for her.
