Obituary of Douglas Joseph Allen

Douglas Joseph Allen passed away on November 25, 2014 in Jacksonville, FL. Doug was born on June 24, 1986 in Brunswick, ME, to Thomas Allen, Jr. and Anne-Marie Allen. Doug was a wonderful, loving young man who made friends wherever he went and never understood the meaning of the word “Can’t.” He knew that with enough love, time and determination, he could accomplish anything and that is how he approached everything in his life-- Never letting anything stand in his way or stop him from reaching his dreams. It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye, knowing that Doug has gone on to Heaven where we will once again see him one day. Doug had a passion for motorcycle riding, snow skiing, scuba diving, the New England Patriots and FSU football, church service, travel, movies and video games. Doug received an Associate’s Degree from FSCJ and had earned his Certified Nursing Assistant license. He worked at St. Vincent’s for the past 10 years, was a member at HighPoint Community Church, Sonshine North Via de Cristo and the American Legion. Doug was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ona Mae and Thomas J. Allen, and Beatrice C. and Roland J. Levesque; uncle, Roger R. Levesque; and cousin, Darrell Allen. Doug is survived by his loving parents, Thomas and Marie Allen; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas “TJ” and Jennifer Allen; uncles, Paul W. Levesque, James Bowles and Ronald Bibeau; aunts, Janine Bibeau, Linda Allen and Christine Bowles; niece, Isabelle Allen; cousins, Bryan and Heidi Allen, Dave and Kimberley Taulbee, Tiffany Bowles, Amberley Hoskins, Shanon Richards and Bradford L. Bibeau; second cousins, Chloe Rose and Braden B. Bibeau, and many more; friends, Robert, Samantha and Joy Trull, Rashawn Burton, Derek, Jackie and Haley Willingham, Daryn, Mark and Isaiah Parker, and Chelsea Morin. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 5, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, December 6, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service, both at the HighPoint Community Church, 84 Knight Boxx Road, Orange Park, FL 32065. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at HighPoint Community Church. Please make donations to HighPoint Community Church in thanks for all the love they showed Doug and the Allen family. Services are entrusted to Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32073, (904) 264-1233.
